At Crimson Global Academy, we've always believed that exceptional students come in many forms. Some thrive in traditional classrooms. Others flourish when given flexibility, independence, and the freedom to learn differently.
We're excited to share an important step in our commitment to supporting every learner's potential.
We are pleased to announce that Summit Point School, New Zealand's first registered, full-curriculum school specifically for students with specific learning differences, has joined the CGA family. Based in Takapuna, Auckland, Summit Point has built its reputation supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, auditory processing differences, twice-exceptional profiles, and anxiety - students whose needs were too often unmet by mainstream schooling.
While we're still designing exactly what this integration will look like, one thing is already clear: bringing together Summit Point's specialist expertise and CGA's world-class online learning platform creates exciting possibilities for neurodiverse students and families worldwide.
Why This Matters
Across Australia, New Zealand, and beyond, many families face a difficult choice. They can access specialist support for their child's learning differences, or they can access a broad academic curriculum with flexibility and global opportunities. Too often, they struggle to find both.
At CGA, we believe students shouldn't have to choose. Our goal is to create learning environments where neurodiverse students can build confidence, develop their strengths, and pursue ambitious academic goals without compromising the support they need. The addition of Summit Point's expertise is an important step towards that vision.
About Summit Point
Summit Point School opened its doors in 2017, becoming New Zealand's first registered, full-curriculum school for dyslexic learners - a milestone born from founder Rebecca Elias's deeply personal journey. A former secondary school teacher, Rebecca recognised patterns of ADHD in herself and her son after attending a professional development session, which set her on a path to study children with diverse and complex learning profiles. She went on to complete a master's degree and to train and co-teach at The Gow School in New York, one of the world's leading institutions for students with dyslexia and language-based learning differences, before returning home to build something New Zealand had never seen.
Since starting with just 10 students, Summit Point has grown into a respected specialist school, supporting students across Years 2 to 8 at its Takapuna, Auckland campus. The school is a registered charity and a proud member of the Independent Schools of New Zealand.
What has always defined Summit Point is its philosophy. As Rebecca puts it: "We have developed a robust curriculum and a culture of strength-based education to engage our unique student cohort." Rather than focusing on deficits, Summit Point's educators work alongside students to understand how they learn best - building strategies that support long-term success both inside and outside the classroom.
Bringing Together Two Areas of Expertise
CGA and Summit Point each bring different strengths to this partnership.
Summit Point brings:
- Specialist expertise in neurodiverse learning, including dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and twice-exceptional profiles
- An evidence-based Structured Literacy curriculum
- Executive functioning coaching and learning strategy frameworks
- A strength-based culture and deep understanding of student wellbeing and engagement
CGA brings:
- A globally recognised online learning environment
- Flexible scheduling and personalised pathways
- Access to a broad international curriculum
- A worldwide community of ambitious learners
Together, we believe these strengths create exciting opportunities to better support students whose learning journeys may look different.
Looking Ahead: What We're Exploring
While plans are still being developed, our teams are already working together to explore how Summit Point’s expertise can be incorporated into the CGA experience. Areas currently under consideration include:
- Specialist learning support services
- Executive functioning coaching programs
- Dyslexia-friendly learning resources
- ADHD-informed teaching practices
- Parent education workshops
- Professional development for teachers
- Enhanced wellbeing and learner support initiatives
Our goal is not simply to add services. Our goal is to create an educational experience where neurodiverse students can thrive academically while developing the confidence and skills they need for lifelong success.
Our Vision for Neurodiverse Education
We believe the future of education is personalised. We believe students learn best when their strengths are recognised. And we believe neurodiversity should be viewed as a difference to be understood, not a problem to be solved.
The integration of Summit Point into CGA represents an opportunity to reimagine what support for neurodiverse learners can look like in a global online school. We’re excited by what lies ahead.
“Every student deserves access to both academic opportunity and meaningful support. By bringing together CGA and Summit Point, we have a chance to build something truly unique for families.”
- Jamie Beaton, Co-Founder and CEO, Crimson Education
