“They Believed in Me”: A CGA Student on Choosing Online School in Europe

When Keisha joined Crimson Global Academy (CGA), she was living in Paris, studying A Levels online, and navigating life far from home. Originally from Mauritius, with roots in the Caribbean, Keisha’s decision to move to France and continue her education online wasn’t something she planned, it was something she chose. And in her words, it’s a decision she doesn’t regret.

There’s no way that I could regret it… all of it was a positive experience, even in the harder times.

In our latest episode of Beyond the CGA Classroom, Keisha speaks openly about what it’s really like to learn online, how CGA helped her rediscover her love of learning, and why she believes support and connection matter just as much as academics.

Finding Belonging in a Global Classroom

Keisha had always been curious about online schooling, something she once thought of as a “side dream.” That dream became reality when COVID disrupted her education. After a difficult first experience with a different online school, she was determined not to repeat it.

It was basically me and my books in my room… I felt very alone.

What changed her mind about trying again was CGA’s human approach. From the first point of contact, Keisha says she felt heard, which was something that had been missing from her previous experience.

“When I asked to have contact with the school, everyone was super kind… and they believed in me.”

That belief gave her the confidence to study biology, chemistry and maths A Levels with CGA, and to pursue her dream of becoming a vet.

The Best Kind of Online School

What stood out most to Keisha was the everyday rhythm of CGA. Real-time classes, active participation, and a strong sense of community.

Every day from Monday to Friday, you have classes with the teacher, so you can’t feel alone… You’re not the only one. You don’t feel like you just have your copybook in front of you.

The social side of CGA, something many students and parents wonder about, came naturally to her. She connected with classmates around the world, one of whom became a close friend and study partner. She credits group discussions and collaborative projects with giving her a broader understanding of topics, especially in science.

When you can hear someone else’s perspective, you’re like, oh, I didn’t think of it that way, and that just makes the learning so much more fun.

“Take the Risk”

Now on a gap year in Bordeaux, Keisha is working with animals and preparing to study veterinary medicine in Spain, her top university choice. It’s a goal she wasn’t sure how to reach before CGA.

Before going to CGA, I had no clue how I was going to reach that goal… and now it’s super close.

To anyone unsure about whether online learning is worth it, especially those who’ve had a difficult first experience, Keisha advice is:

Take the risk… you really won’t regret it.
