March has been a month of recognition and impressive achievements within the CGA community. From university admission announcements and global meetups to inspiring initiatives that celebrate diversity and empowerment, this month has demonstrated the vibrancy and connectedness of our school community, regardless of where our students are located around the world.
We are incredibly excited to celebrate the remarkable achievements of CGA students who have secured places at their chosen universities! Their dedication and commitment to learning have opened doors to exciting new chapters at top institutions around the world.
This is more than just an academic milestone. It is a testament to the power of hard work and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. University life will bring growth, new friendships, and unforgettable experiences, and we can’t wait to see how our students continue to thrive.
✨ Congratulations to every student. We’re so proud of you!
Students from all CGA campuses celebrated International Women's Month, honouring the remarkable women in our global community, including faculty members, staff, parents, and fellow students. They recognised the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women who are shaping the future. This celebration showcased the power of leadership, innovation, and positive change.
CGA students, led by the student interest group Neurodiversity Allies, participated in Neurodiversity Celebration Week from March 17 to 23. This international initiative aims to break down stereotypes and promote acceptance of neurological differences.
The group collected responses from CGA students about what neurodiversity means to them. At the Greenwich campus, student leader and Neurodiversity Allies member Rosa facilitated a discussion on embracing neurodivergent individuals. She emphasised the importance of using positive language to build support and connection. These efforts reflect the students' commitment to inclusivity and the celebration of diverse ways of thinking and learning.
In March, CGA hosted a successful session focused on time management. This webinar, led by Aoraki student leaders Doris and Josie, along with Mr Andy Meldrum, shared valuable insights into mastering time management in academic settings. The session was hosted by CGA’s Chief Branding Officer, Jess Silcock, and provided practical strategies to help students manage their academic and personal responsibilities effectively.
Josie highlighted the importance of finding study methods that work for each student. “Finding a resource that works for you is crucial because studying is definitely not a one-size-fits-all type of thing,” she said.
Doris advised tackling challenging tasks first. “Time management is very important, and I've become very familiar with how I manage my time throughout the day,” she noted. She also stressed the importance of breaks and staying active. Knowing when you’re most focused can make a difference.
The webinar highlighted the importance of personalised time management strategies in achieving academic success. By adopting these strategies, students can enhance their productivity and effectively balance their academic and personal lives. As Mr. Meldrum wisely noted, "You can't build solid study patterns if you don't have balance."
A major milestone for CGA this March was our first-ever student and family meetup in Shanghai. The event brought together 40 attendees from 27 families across China. Families traveled from various regions, including Beijing, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Guangdong, and Jiangsu, to participate in this special gathering.
The meetup featured three engaging sessions. The CGA Family Meet-Up allowed students and parents to partake in separate activities. Students enjoyed games and conversations, while parents participated in smaller discussion groups to share experiences and insights.
Additionally, a CGA Offline Event Seminar was led by Admissions Officer Jenny Hsieh and Deputy Principal Ronan Kearney. This seminar welcomed both current CGA families and prospective students who were eager to learn more about CGA’s unique educational approach.
Also in attendance were CGA’s Growth Manager Victoria Gu and Regional Director for Admissions Peter Kim, who engaged with families and provided valuable insights into the CGA experience. With such a strong start, CGA is eager to organise more events in different cities across China.
March also saw CGA’s first Science Day and Student Meet-Up in Osaka, bringing together 51 attendees across 38 families for a day of learning and bonding.
A highlight of the event was an interactive science session, where students participated in engaging lab experiments. This session encouraged curiosity and collaboration, allowing participants to explore scientific concepts in a fun and hands-on manner. Additionally, students had the opportunity to join a live class experience, providing a rare chance to connect face-to-face beyond the virtual classroom.
Alongside the science activities, a dinner gathering brought together five students and their families, which fostered deeper connections within the CGA community.
