Student Leaders Share Their Vision for 2026

We asked our new student leaders what they hope to bring to CGA this year. Their answers show ambition, heart, and a commitment to make our online school feel like home.

What are your goals as a CGA student leader this year?

Koko K. – Head Student, Greenwich (Singapore): “My goal is for every student at CGA to feel the same appreciation for this community that I do. I lead with intention — building systems that last, creating spaces where students feel seen and heard, and ensuring the opportunities at CGA are accessible to everyone.”

Vivian M. – Head of Mandela House (USA): “I want to strengthen our sense of community through service and events that bring students together. My goal is for students to build friendships while making a positive impact beyond our online school.”

Kosan M. – Head of Malala (South Africa): “I want Malala House to be a connected, cohesive, and competitive community — a real family.”

Anya G. – Arts Prefect, US Campus (India): “I aim to make the arts vibrant and inclusive at CGA — giving students space to express themselves through music, visual arts, and performance.”

Kai P. – Academic Prefect (South Africa): “I’m excited to continue the Study Buddies Program and help improve the academic success of students across Greenwich.”

Arielle R. – Head of Rutherford House (Australia):
“I’m most excited to take our house spirit to the next level and create a sense of connection within the house. My goals are to create engaging and friendly competitions that offer a method of connection outside of class and to help lead wellbeing initiatives for CGA students.”

Addison T. – Head of Sheppard House (Australia):
“I’m excited to create opportunities that empower students academically and beyond the classroom. Through initiatives, my goal is to foster collaboration, support younger students, and help everyone feel more confident, prepared, and connected within the CGA community.”

Mia M. – Creative Arts Prefect (New Zealand):
“To create platforms where student creativity can be shared and celebrated, while continuing to foster the strong sense of community at CGA and making it easier for students to form meaningful connections. As an online school, it's even more important that students are given as many opportunities as possible to socialise and build friendships so everyone feels supported, included and connected.”

Andy W. – Peer Support Prefect (New Zealand):
“I’m most excited to create and lead initiatives that help students feel more connected and supported. To develop spaces and programmes that encourage open communication, wellbeing, and a strong sense of community within the school.”

What advice would you give to fellow CGA students?

Shin – Head of Mandela House (Japan): “Speak up, start something, get involved. When you share your ideas, people will join you.”

Bea – Academic Prefect (Saudi Arabia): “Don’t be afraid to reach out. Everyone at CGA is kind and welcoming. Get involved — you won’t regret it!”

Hannah W. – Academic Team Member (China): "Work with others, chat with classmates, and start your homework early.”

Emaan – Cultural Prefect (USA): “Get involved early and reach out. Clubs and events help you discover your passions and build friendships.”

Zaki – Yearbook Team (Dubai): “Communicate — it makes all the difference in connecting with classmates and teachers.”

Amy M. – Deputy Head of Rutherford House (Australia):
“Get involved as much as possible! This will help you make more friends, expand your interests and skills, help you to flourish within the school and bring more vibrancy to your time at CGA.”

Shaoey C. – Student Council Leader (Australia):
“I believe taking all opportunities to engage, whether it's clubs or events, helps you to enjoy your time at CGA further — as it allows you to make friends for your schooling journey, and it doesn't become just about academics!”

Ryota W. – Student Council Member (Japan):
“Listen to your parents and teachers, but know when to follow your instincts and do your own thing.”

What has been one of your favourite experiences at CGA so far?

Ayaka M. – Head of Hawking (Japan): “Maths drop-in sessions have helped me revise and understand better. Joining clubs and study calls with friends keeps me motivated.”

Albert Y. – Art Prefect (Canada): “Breakout rooms! Sharing ideas with classmates always leads to fun and creativity.”

Zoe M. – Cultural & Community (South Africa): “All the opportunities — clubs, student leadership, competitions. They make CGA truly exciting.”

Sam H. – Academic Prefect (New Zealand):
“Going to camp in Nelson was such a special experience for me, as not only did I get to meet my friends and teachers, but we also got to partake in some amazing activities.”

Emily H. – Academic Prefect (New Zealand):
***"***The meet-ups and end-of-year gatherings — it’s great to meet other CGA students and connect beyond an academic, online setting.”

Karen Y. – Student Council Member (Japan):
“One of my favourite experiences at CGA has been getting to know not only other students but also teachers. Connecting with them both in class and through assemblies and fun teacher–student activities outside of class has made school feel more welcoming and supportive.”

Emma T. – Peer Support Prefect (Australia):
“One of my favourite experiences at CGA has been attending the Vietnam trip in 2024. It was an incredible opportunity to meet new people, build meaningful connections, and explore a vibrant new culture.”

A Celebration of Global Perspectives

CGA’s strength lies in its diversity, and our student leaders embody that global spirit. Their backgrounds, interests, and passions enrich our community and bring unique perspectives to their roles.

Dorothy L. – ECL & Creative Arts Prefect (China): “I’ve studied in both New Zealand and China, and those experiences shaped my approach to leadership. I love long-distance running, horse riding, playing the piano, and singing — and I’m also deeply involved in my church’s charity work. These passions inspire me to help students find balance, joy, and community through extracurricular life at CGA.”

Elena T. – Academic Team Member (Russia → Australia): “I’m Russian but living in Australia, and tennis is a huge part of my life. I also enjoy volleyball and golf whenever I can. I hope to bring this same discipline and energy to helping students thrive academically at CGA.”

Aabis N. – ECL & Creative Arts Prefect (Dubai): “I’m originally from Kerala in South India, but I’ve lived my whole life in Dubai. I love football, cricket, and swimming — and I’m excited to bring that enthusiasm and community spirit into CGA’s extracurricular and creative arts spaces.”

Oscar G. – Student Council Member (New Zealand):
“I live in Wanaka, New Zealand, and most of you will know this from assembly — I’m pursuing a career in golf that I hope to take to the world stage and compete internationally. Another fun fact is that my nickname when I was younger was ‘11/10’ because I couldn’t seem to stop wanting to do things. I hope to bring the same energy into the CGA community this year!”

Isabelle H. – Cultural & Community Prefect (New Zealand):
“I am an equestrian and compete in show jumping. I’ve ridden since I was four. I look forward to bringing more student athletes together and helping increase attendance at in-person meet-ups.”

Niva M. – Creative Arts Prefect (Cook Islands):
“So far, my favourite experience at CGA is the implementation of the four-day week. Living in a different day than most of the school means I have a slightly unusual school week. However, the four-day structure allows me to arrange my education around sports and hobbies in a way that wouldn’t be possible with a conventional five-day model.”

Talya L. – Student Council Member (New Zealand):
“I enjoy creative activities like crocheting and painting, and I volunteer at a youth centre weekly. I like challenging myself to learn new things and creating events for my community, such as an outdoor movie night I helped plan. Get involved where you can and don’t be afraid to try new things, even if you’re unsure at first. Taking opportunities as they come makes school a lot more enjoyable.”

Leading CGA Into an Exciting Year Ahead

The 2025-2026 Student Leadership teams embody CGA’s values:

  • global-mindedness
  • initiative & integrity
  • academic excellence
  • creativity & cultural appreciation
  • community spirit

Their vision shows that even in an online school, community thrives when students lead with heart and purpose. We are rooting for each of them as they champion new ideas, elevate student experiences, and bring meaningful impact across campuses. 2026 is already shaping up to be an inspiring year for CGA’s global community.
