When Vibali joined Crimson Global Academy, she wasn’t sure where she would be based long-term. She was preparing to move between countries and knew she needed consistency in her education.
“I was in a position where I could have been stuck travelling back and forth between two countries, so CGA’s online model was the ideal solution. It allowed me to stay consistent with my education no matter where I was.”
That consistency has paid off. Now 18 and based in Dubai, Vibali has received offers to study Law at the University of Bristol, Durham, Exeter and City, University of London, where she accepted an officer at the University of Bristol.
“I’m very happy with the outcome because I got into the university I really wanted. It feels incredibly rewarding.”
From the beginning, Vibali was drawn to studying Law in the UK. The shorter degree length and the flexibility of a common law qualification made it a clear fit for her goals - not to mention the UK is home to some of the best and world-renowned universities in the world.
“I had decided to study law, and the UK stood out to me because of its three-year LLB programme and the fact that a UK law degree based on the common law system allows me to potentially practise in multiple countries. This flexibility made it the ideal choice for me.”
The LLB (short for Legum Baccalaureus, or Bachelor of Laws) is the standard undergraduate law degree in the UK. It allows students to qualify more quickly than in some other countries and opens pathways to practise in multiple jurisdictions.
For students like Vibali, who already have a strong interest in the subject, being able to study Law at A Level through CGA provides a valuable head start for university coursework, both in understanding the material and in confirming whether the subject is the right fit for university.
Vibali studied A Level Law, Business and English Language, along with an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). She also took English Literature at AS Level. But it was A Level Law that helped her solidify what she wanted to study at university.
“A Level Law played a major role in shaping my decision to study law at university. Although I had always found law interesting, it initially felt like a far fetched option for me. But studying it at A Level, and especially having the support and encouragement of my teacher gave me the confidence to pursue it seriously.”
That guidance helped turn interest into direction. And it’s one of the reasons CGA’s small classes and direct access to top teachers around the world are such an important part of how students learn and succeed online.
Studying at CGA means being part of an international online high school where students from more than 70 countries join live, real-time classes. The flexibility of studying online allowed Vibali to keep up her studies no matter where she was, but what stood out to her most was the global mix of students and teachers.
“One of the things I’ve really appreciated is how international both the teachers and classmates are. It gives you a first-hand perspective into global insights and diverse ways of thinking.”
She also found the small class sizes meant that teachers could adapt to different students’ needs.
“The small class sizes also make a big difference; teachers are incredibly supportive and can tailor their approach to help you understand the material better.”
Even though she studied from home, Vibali stayed connected to school life through extracurriculars at CGA.
She joined the Yearbook Club, which gave her a creative outlet and added something social to her week.
“Getting involved in extracurriculars like the Yearbook Club not only helped me build leadership skills, but also gave me a break from academics while feeling more connected to the school community.”
CGA offers a wide range of student-led and faculty-supported clubs, covering academic interests, creative projects and global issues. Students can take part in Model UN, Economics Society, Coding Club, or 3D Game Development. There are also options like Debate Club, Creative Writing, and virtual volunteering initiatives that connect students across time zones and cultures.
For students balancing a full academic load, these activities offer a way to take ownership of their interests and meet classmates from around the world. For Vibali, they helped make her school experience feel more complete.
With offers in hand, Vibali is already thinking about the next steps. After university, she plans to sit the Solicitors Qualifying Examination and hopes to practise as a solicitor.
“I’m particularly interested in exploring areas of law that align with my personal interests such as intellectual property, so I can pursue a path where I feel genuinely motivated by the work I do.”
Her time at CGA helped her take what might have felt like a distant goal and turn it into something achievable. With support and flexibility, she was able to keep her plans on track and build the confidence to follow through.
