Course Overview

The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Psychology features an engaging selection of topics designed to cover key questions that introduce students to the different approaches in Psychology: the Developmental, Cognitive, Biological, Social and Individual Differences approaches.

Mathematics Overview

Throughout every topic, students consider the use of research methods in Psychology. This includes the collection and analysis of data, so students are expected to be able to use arithmetic and graphs to analyse data, including measures of central tendency and dispersion.

Skills You'll Learn

  • Students will learn both classic and contemporary theories and research studies across seven topics: Development, Memory, Psychological Problems, The Brain, Social Influence, Criminal Psychology and Sleep & Dreaming.
  • Students will develop both analysis and application skills. They practise breaking down theories and studies to analyse their content in terms of strengths and weaknesses, using psychological terminology such as validity and reliability.
  • Application is practised by considering real life scenarios and explaining the behaviour using psychological theories and studies.
