This October, CGA students and families based across the UK were joined together in-person for our London and Cambridge student meet-up. We love holding these in-person events, as a way for students to step away from the virtual classroom and experience CGA’s vibrant global community in real life.
Our London day began at St James’s Park Café, where students and staff gathered under surprisingly blue skies. From the very start, the energy was high, and full of excitement as some students met face-to-face for the first time, and while others reconnected in-person since our last UK meet-up.
The walking tour kicked off with a student-led explorer challenge. In teams, students explored some of the most iconic landmarks in Westminster, from Big Ben to Parliament Square. Each stop came with a quiz question and a creative challenge. Whether it was a royal wave in front of Buckingham Palace or writing poems outside Big Ben, students leaned into the moment and made it their own.
One of the highlights of the day was the tote bag painting workshop. This was an activity that stood out not only for the creativity it sparked but for how naturally it brought everyone together.
Guided by an instructor, students designed and painted their own personalised tote bags. The final designs were as diverse as the CGA students themselves, with everything from abstract art to flags, and even tributes to CGA.
It gave everyone a chance to wind down, chat, and bond through a shared creative outlet.
The second day took students out of the city and into Cambridge, starting with a coach ride from London that quickly turned into a lively mix of card games and ice-breakers.
Students joined a walking tour of the city, visited the Fitzwilliam Museum, and enjoyed a group brunch at Churchill College.
A highlight of the day was meeting CGA alumni Sara and Julia, now studying at the University of Cambridge.
They gave our students a personal tour of the city, both campuses where they study (Engineering and Archeology) and generously answered questions about university life, applications, and their experiences since graduating from CGA.
Throughout the weekend, it was clear that what students valued most wasn’t the itinerary itself but the chance to genuinely connect with each other. These meet-ups reflect the strength of CGA’s community, students from all over the world coming together to build friendships, share ideas, and support one another in and outside the classroom.
We’re looking forward to the next one as we fly over to Spain in 2026! Stay tuned.
